Von Mortgage

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Von Mortgage does with personal information collected through this website, and how it differs from the information we collect when you actually apply for a loan. Von Mortgage is a trade name of Dream Big Ownership LLC, NMLS #2592815, at 2777 Bechelli Lane, Redding, CA 96002.

Two kinds of information, two different rulebooks. Information you give us as part of a mortgage inquiry or application is regulated by the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and California's Financial Information Privacy Act, and is described in the separate privacy notice we give our loan customers. Information collected from you as a visitor to this website — cookies, advertising identifiers, analytics, and general inquiries — is governed by the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and is what most of this page is about.

1. Information we collect from this website

We collect the following categories, using the category names California law uses. "Sold or shared" has the specific statutory meaning — disclosing personal information to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising, whether or not money changes hands.

Where it comes from

  • Directly from you, when you complete a form, register for a webinar, or use one of our calculators.
  • Automatically from your device, through cookies and similar technologies.
  • From advertising platforms, when you arrive via an ad (for example a Google gclid or Meta fbclid click identifier in the link).

2. Sensitive personal information

We do not ask for sensitive personal information through this website's general inquiry forms.

A mortgage application necessarily involves it — Social Security number, income, and financial account details. We use that information only to evaluate and process your request, to service your loan, and to meet our legal, regulatory, and record-keeping obligations. California law does not require a business to offer a limitation right for those uses, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you, nor for advertising of any kind. You may still record a limitation request through Your California privacy rights and we will honor it.

3. Selling and sharing

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share online identifiers and activity with advertising and analytics platforms for cross-context behavioral advertising, which California law treats as "selling or sharing" and which gives you the right to opt out.

We have not sold or shared the personal information of anyone we know to be under 16 years of age, and this website is not directed to children.

How to opt out

  • Use Your Privacy Choices in the footer of any page, or the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.
  • Turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser. We detect and honor it automatically as a valid opt-out, and you do not need to tell us separately.

4. Who we disclose information to

We disclose personal information to service providers who act on our instructions, and to advertising platforms as described above. The categories, and the providers in each, are:

  • Customer relationship and marketing automation — LeadConnector (GoHighLevel) and Zapier, which receive inquiries submitted through our forms.
  • Mortgage tools embedded in our pages — BankingBridge (rate quotes) and Homebot (home value estimates).
  • Form and content providers — Form.io, which hosts the form on our rate-notification page, and rss.app.
  • Analytics and advertising platforms — Google and Meta.
  • Infrastructure, security, and media — our hosting provider, Google reCAPTCHA, Google Maps, Google Fonts, and YouTube.
  • Professional advisers and regulators — where we are legally required or permitted to disclose.

Embedded content from these providers can set its own cookies and receive your IP address when a page loads. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.

5. Cookies, analytics, and your choices

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, to measure how it performs, and to support advertising. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off. Analytics and advertising technologies are subject to the choices you make in Your Privacy Choices, and advertising tags do not load at all when you have opted out.

Your choice is stored in a cookie on the device you are using, so you will need to set it again on another browser or after clearing your cookies.

6. Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we disclosed it to;
  • Access a portable copy of it;
  • Correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Delete personal information we hold about you;
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information;
  • Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information; and
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We will not charge you a different price or give you a lesser level of service.

These rights apply to the website information described in section 1. They generally do not apply to information we hold under GLBA, which is covered in section 8 — and we will tell you which exemption applies if we have to rely on one.

How to make a request

Two ways, as the statute requires:

We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days, which we may extend once by a further 45 days where reasonably necessary. We will tell you if we need the extension.

Verifying your identity

Before we release or delete anything we have to be reasonably certain you are who you say you are — releasing loan information to the wrong person is a far worse outcome than a slow response. We will ask you to confirm information we already hold, and we will match it against our records. We will not ask you to create an account in order to make a request.

Authorized agents

You may use an authorized agent, who will need to provide written permission signed by you. We will still verify your identity directly and may ask you to confirm that you granted the authority.

7. How long we keep information

Retention periods for website information are listed in the table in section 1. Where a period is not fixed, we keep information for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, and then delete it. Loan and transaction records are retained for the longer periods required by federal and state lending, anti-money-laundering, and record-keeping rules; those requirements override a deletion request.

8. Loan application and customer information (GLBA)

When you apply for a mortgage, or become our customer, the information you give us — including your Social Security number, income, employment, assets, debts, and credit report — is nonpublic personal information under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. It is used to evaluate, process, and service your loan application and to comply with lending law.

That information is covered by the separate privacy notice we provide when you apply, and annually thereafter, as required by Regulation P. California's Financial Information Privacy Act gives you further rights, including that we generally must obtain your consent before sharing your nonpublic personal information with unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing.

This website page does not replace that notice. If you are a loan applicant or customer and would like another copy, email support@vonmortgage.com and we will send it to you.

9. Security

We maintain physical, electronic, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, and access is limited to people who need it to do their jobs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send your Social Security number or account numbers to us by ordinary email.

10. Links to other sites

Our pages link to and embed content from other companies, including our loan application portal and scheduling tools. Once you are on another company's site, this policy no longer applies and theirs does.

11. Changes to this policy

We will post any change on this page and update the effective date below. If a change is material, we will make that clear rather than relying on the date alone.
