Pete Metz has been a mortgage loan officer since 2010 and opened Von Mortgage's Redding branch in July 2019, after nine years with Megastar. He owns the company, Dream Big Ownership LLC, and runs it from the office on Bechelli Lane. In that time he has helped more than 500 families in Shasta County and across California buy, build and refinance. Pete calls himself a student of the mortgage industry. He takes the time to understand what a client is actually trying to do, whether that is a first home with down payment assistance, a construction loan on family land, or an investor adding a property, and builds the loan around it. As a broker he shops each file across the wholesale lenders Von Mortgage works with, so the answer is rarely a flat no. Two things come up in review after review: the numbers he quotes at the start are the numbers clients close with, and he lays the options out side by side so the choice is theirs. He hosts the Dream Big podcast on Northern California real estate, and his Rate Drop Refi™ covers the lender fees when a purchase client refinances after rates fall. Away from the office Pete road bikes, backpacks, surfs, travels and reads. He replies to most messages within the hour.
Amy Cockburn

Amy Cockburn was born in Indiana but is a California girl at heart. She is a Licensed Loan Officer but spends most of her time partnering with Pete Metz and his team to help provide the best customer service possible. She enjoys sharing her knowledge about the mortgage world and helping educate both those in the profession and those looking to purchase or refinance. On Team Metz, Amy is the loan officer clients hear from when Pete is with another family: she takes applications, reviews income and asset documents, explains what underwriting is asking for and why, and keeps the file moving between the buyer, the real estate agent, escrow and the lender. Her focus on service shows in how she explains things: plainly, without jargon, and as many times as it takes. In her spare time she likes to venture outdoors with her husband, Nathan Cockburn, and their dog, Maximus. If they're not outdoors or in the gym, they're spending time with family and friends.
Tabitha Suthers
Loan Partner
Tabitha was born and raised in Redding and has been with Von Mortgage for three years. She started at the front desk and has moved up to Loan Partner for Team Metz. As a loan partner, Tabitha works alongside Pete on each file from application to closing: she helps clients complete the application, collects the income, asset and identification documents the lender needs, keeps the checklist current as underwriting adds conditions, and stays in touch so clients always know what is next. Having grown up here, she knows the local escrow companies, agents and appraisers the team works with every week. In her spare time Tabitha loves spending time with her two kids, Chloe and Kason.
Blair Hodgdon

Born and raised in Shasta County, Blair loves this community and helping his fellow Northern Californians achieve their goal of home ownership. His reputation as a mortgage advisor has been built on attention to detail and the belief that communication is of utmost importance in the home loan process. His "door is always open" policy gives his clients a professional mortgage experience that is comfortable and stress-free. As a mortgage advisor Blair works with clients from the first conversation to the closing table: pre-approval, the choice between conventional, FHA, VA and USDA financing, the offer, and every condition underwriting asks for along the way. He handles purchases and refinances, and because he grew up here he knows the difference between a Palo Cedro parcel and a Cottonwood one when it comes to appraisals, insurance and USDA eligibility. Clients' reviews on Google and Zillow single out the same things: he answers the phone, he explains, and nothing is a surprise at signing. Blair is married to his best friend, Melanie, with whom he has two children, Brooklynn and Koen. The family enjoys golfing, camping, baseball and traveling.
Angela Nance

Angela analyzes each client's needs and strives to provide a seamless transaction, with uncompromising service. She believes that education is power and finds it incredibly rewarding to educate her clients about their different financing options and help them secure a loan that best suits their budget and goals. Angela has extensive product knowledge and experience in purchases as well as refinances. In practice that means a first meeting spent on the client's situation rather than on a rate sheet: income, credit, savings, and what the next five years look like. From there Angela walks through the programs that fit, from 3% down conventional and FHA to VA and USDA for buyers outside the city, and refinance options for homeowners who want a lower payment, cash out, or to drop mortgage insurance. She keeps clients informed at every stage, so the appraisal, the conditions and the closing disclosure arrive as expected steps rather than surprises. Away from the office, Angela values time with her husband and two young children. Together they enjoy camping, bike riding and sunny days at the lake.
Brooke Harkins
Loan Officer Assistant
Brooke was born and raised in Mishawaka, Indiana, about a mile and a half from the University of Notre Dame, and remains a Fighting Irish fan. She started in the mortgage industry in 2016 and joined Von Mortgage in October 2021 as a Production Assistant for Team Metz, while also originating loans in Indiana for friends and family. As Pete's production assistant, Brooke is the person who turns an approval into a closing. She gathers and checks the documents underwriting needs, tracks every condition until it is cleared, orders and follows the appraisal, and coordinates with escrow, the insurance agent and the real estate agents so the closing date holds. If you're a Team Metz client, the reminder about a missing bank statement or the note that your appraisal came back is usually from Brooke. Her passion for mortgage origination comes from personal experience. She truly believes that what separates this team from others is its heart: when we do what is right, the right things happen, in all aspects of life. In her spare time, Brooke enjoys traveling with her children, catching some wind on her Harley Sportster 883, and cooking for friends and family. In the summer, you'll find them on the lake all day.
Tiffany Schafer
Customer Support Concierge
Tiffany Schafer joined Von Mortgage in April 2022 as Customer Support Concierge. She was raised in Eugene, Oregon, but considers Redding home after a decade in Shasta County. Tiffany has many years of administrative and customer support experience and genuinely understands the needs of clients. She always seeks to go above and beyond to create winning experiences. Tiffany is the one who checks in with you at every step of the mortgage journey: after the application, when the appraisal is ordered, when conditions come back, and before signing, so nothing sits in an inbox unread and no question goes unanswered for long. She also keeps in touch after closing, which is how many clients end up coming back for their refinance or their next home. Outside the office, Tiffany is committed to health and wellness; she finds ways to move her body, learn about emotional health, and improve her well-being on every level. She is a mom to a teenage son and a wiggly Boxer pup. You'll find her slinging beers at Fall River Brewery on the weekends; stop by and say hello.
Kaitlin Hoy
Front Desk Manager
Kaitlin became part of the Von Mortgage team in 2026 as Front Desk Manager. She is the first voice you'll hear when you call the office and the first face you'll see when you walk through the door on Bechelli Lane, and she goes above and beyond to make every client feel comfortable and at home. Kaitlin has always enjoyed working with numbers and helping people, and the mortgage industry lets her do both while being part of the homeownership journey. Each day she creates a welcoming environment for clients, answers questions, schedules appointments with the loan officers, helps with document drop-offs, and supports the team so every experience feels smooth and personal. Her long-term goal is to become a loan originator, and she is continuing to learn and grow in the industry so she can guide clients through one of the biggest decisions of their lives. Outside of work, Kaitlin enjoys exploring new places with friends and family, spending time at the lake, and soaking up the sunshine whenever she can.
